Saturday, December 19, 2009 @ 11:23 AM Went for Swan lake today, tell you, it was awesome! Much better than the one I went last time in October. That's because the one I went previously was only a prelude.
Was quite disappointed though, cos' our seat wasn't the VIP box. No wonder, I was wondering, how could the tickets be so cheap for a VIP box. Only $68+. -.-
Instead, we seated at the third story from the stage. I went like, what? This is our seat? But at least, we could catch quite a better view from up there.
And so the mains were, Chen Peng as Prince Siegfried, Rosa Park as Odette, Chihiro Uchida as Odile and Robert Mills as the sorcerer Rothbart. And 32 or the dancers which I would not name. I notice none of them were local, well, that's expected.
There were about 2 intermission, during the first intermission, which was also an approx of 20mins, we rushed down the performance hall for dinner, cos' we didn't have our dinner just now. And at that time, it was around 9.10pm, the ushers told us to be back in the theatre by 9.30pm. Within 20mins, its kinda hard to search for food.
So, I went with Ellopop-ers down to search. There isn't any small serving, most I've seen are ice-creams, cakes, deserts. Foods can only be founded at big restaurants, but the thing is, we only have a limited time. So, we saw a restaurant, which also sell 'sand witches', the serving was kinda big, so I shared with Elaine while the other two shared among themselves.
And I saw Harry Potter posters and stuffs! But no time for that. Only had a few minutes to run up the hall. Or not, we can't get in. So when we got in, we sat at the usual place as allocated.
This time we saw Odile performing, the bad swan. She's brilliant! Performed 32 pirouettes at one go. Amazing right. An hour later, the 2nd intermission started. Time was at 10.30pm. So I saw some ushers in the performance hall selling the swan lake's book and a SDT pointe shoe keychain. Without hesitating, I bought it. The book was at $15 and the chain was at $8. Love the shoes.
After the intermission, it was Act IV. Odette met the Prince at the lake, while the Prince defeats Rothbart. So the show ended at 11pm. Its 3hours. Hmm, I guess there's nothing more to blog about today's event. After it all ended, our parents fetch us from the Esplanade. And we said bye. D: I'll post some pictures on Sunday, if possible.
The best news I've heard today is, I'm not going to Shanghai anymore!!! I went like, Yay! :D Not going because I had something important on Sunday, the flights can't be rescheduled anymore too. Anyway, that's the best news! :D But I'll still be going to HK on Tuesday morning.
